Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Petspulse, a web application available at https://petspulse.org (the "Service"), operated by Petspulse ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
What Petspulse does — and doesn't
Petspulse is a logging tool. You enter data about your pet's glucose, weight, water intake, and similar metrics, and we organise, sync, and visualise them. We can generate PDF reports and read-only share links for your veterinarian.
Petspulse is NOT a medical device, NOT veterinary advice, and NOT a substitute for professional care. Always work with a licensed veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment. We make no warranty that the data, calculations, or insights are accurate or fit for any particular purpose.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity on your account. Sign up only with an email address you control. You must be at least 13 years old to use Petspulse.
Subscriptions and payment
Petspulse is currently in free beta. Every feature is available at no cost — no credit card, no trial countdown — while we improve the product based on user feedback.
We plan to introduce a paid Pro plan in the future (expected pricing $4.99/month or $39.99/year). When that happens, we will email all active users at least 14 days in advance and grandfather generous terms for everyone who signed up during beta. Until then, nothing changes for you.
When billing does launch, payments will be processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd. ("Paddle"), our Merchant of Record. Paddle will be the seller on the receipt and handles VAT/sales tax on our behalf. The Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms will govern the payment transaction itself.
Refunds (when billing launches)
Once paid plans are active, we will offer refunds within 7 days of purchase for any reason. Email support@petspulse.org from the email on your account. After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- Use the Service to harm a pet (e.g., entering deliberately false data to mislead someone managing your pet's care).
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to access other users' data.
- Bypass rate limits or photo OCR quotas.
- Use the Service to commit fraud or violate any law.
If you violate these rules we may suspend or terminate your account.
Intellectual property
We own the Service (code, design, branding). You own the data you put in — your pets, readings, photos. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display your data as needed to provide the Service to you.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We make no warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Termination
You may close your account at any time via Profile → “Delete my account”. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data is permanently deleted from our systems within a reasonable time.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email signed-in users at least 14 days before it takes effect.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
